Cool Moose Cafe is honored to collaborate with Memorial Park Association production of ” A Memorial Concert in Memorial Park”. We will offer the following Boxed Dinners for our guest to enjoy while listening to the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Band.

Italian Wrap: Salami, prosciutto, sliced provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and balsamic dressing in a garlic herb wrap. Served with kettle chips, our famous chocolate chip walnut cookies, a dill pickle sphere and a bottle of water.

Turkey wrap: Sliced Turkey, smoked bacon, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, jack cheese, and ranch dressing in a garlic herb wrap. Served with kettle chips, our famous chocolate chip walnut cookies, a dill pickle sphere and a bottle of water.

Chicken Salad on Croissant: All white chicken breast with celery, red onion, walnuts, and rich honey mayo topped with lettuce, tomato on a fresh baked croissant. Served with kettle chips, our famous chocolate chip walnut cookies, a dill pickle sphere and a bottle of water.

We will be passing out our boxed meals from 5:30-6:30pm only, so please ensure that you have enough time to grab your meal and pick a location for you to enjoy the concert. Please note: Ticket cancellation is allowed up to 48 hours before the event and should be done via email at coolmoosecafe@gmail.com. Ticket cancellation after the 48 hour window may incur the cost of the meal.

The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the Annual Ag Fest & Master Gardener Plant Sale on May 20, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office (2800 NE 39 Avenue, Gainesville).

The Ag Fest will be providing information on the following: beekeeping, Florida-Friendly Landscaping™, UF/IFAS Bookstore, Forest Ecology, Florida Department of Agriculture, 4-H Youth Development Program, Composting, Rain Barrels, Food and Nutrition Program and more. The Master Gardener Plant Sale will have a variety of herbs, annuals, perennials, natives, trees and more will be available. Master Gardener volunteers will be on site for advice on selection and care of your plants. This annual plant sale is a fundraiser for the Alachua County Master Gardener Volunteer Program. Presentations: 8:45 to 9:15 Planting and Maintaining Trees and Shrubs, 9:45 to 10:15 Growing Blueberries

Marty Jourard, author of “Music Everywhere: The Rock and Roll Roots of a Southern Town,” will have a talk and signing at Third House Books & Coffee in Gainesville.

 From Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to Stephen Stills and the Eagles’ Don Felder and Bernie Leadon, Gainesville cultivated some of the most celebrated musicians and songwriters of the time. Marty Jourard brings to light a key chapter in American rock and roll history.

Marty Jourard, a Gainesville native who released five albums and two top-ten singles with the 1980s band The Motels, is the author of “Start Your Own Band.” He teaches songwriting classes at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle.

The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is celebrating on April 1 and 2 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and you are all invited! This year, we are putting a spotlight on unique ecosystems from around the world and the animals that call them home. Enjoy educational activities and crafts focused on habitats from Florida wetlands to rainforests, and animals from all walks of life. Local conservation organizations will be here to teach fun ways we can all conserve and enjoy nature. This event is perfect for the whole family, offering unique opportunities to watch keeper talks and training demonstrations. This year, we have been working hard to produce thousands of homegrown coleus plants using only varieties developed at UF. The exclusive ‘Gator Glory’ variety will be made available for sale again this year, as well as newly released coleus varieties and old favorites! We will also have a variety of garden perennials, annuals, trees, and landscape bushes. Our annual plant sale is our primary fundraiser and proceeds are used to support our club and community service activities.
